LADIES LUNCHEON
AND STYLE SHOW Our 22nd event is in the books, but make plans to attend our 23nd Annual Ladies Luncheon and Style Show, Thursday April 28, 2011. We will once again host our signature event at the beautiful Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club near LaSalle IL.
4TH ANNUAL
RALLY FOR THE CURE It was a beautiful
day on the golf course, a perfect day for the Rally! This year we increased
the number of golfers for the Rally, hosting 88 lady golfers for the
day. In addition to ‘playing
18’ for a great cause, our golfers had a lot of fun along the way! Several
‘games’ were set up on the course: two holes for closest to the pin;
longest drive and longest putt holes; and a Titleist-sponsored ‘One
Swing Club’ hole. Prizes were awarded for each of the games. In addition,
prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd low team scores and an ‘In the
Pink’ best dressed team. Teams could also
purchase a ‘Survivor Ball’. As each team played the course, they were
required to rotate the play of the Survivor Ball among the team members.
Those teams whose Survivor Ball survived the course were placed in a
drawing for 50% of the proceeds collected from the Survivor Ball sales.
This year the winning team received $200.00 to divide between their
members!! Our golfers also
had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for several items: a
round of golf for two at Weaver Ridge Golf Course in Peoria IL, including
$50 cash for refreshments ($230 value, donated by Weaver Ridge); a pair
of custom golf shoes ($150 value, donated by First Federal Savings Bank);
and a pink Blackberry Otter box (donated by IV Cellular). We also played Golf
Trivia on one of our holes. Each golfer who answered her golf trivia
question correctly was placed in a drawing for four Chicago Cubs baseball
tickets! In addition to golfing,
prizes, raffles, course snacks, breakfast AND lunch, our golfers also
received goodie bags, compliments of the Rally and First Federal Savings
Bank. We are pleased to
report, in four years of ‘Rally-ing’, thanks to the generosity of our
lady golfers, we have donated more than $7,000.00 to the Susan G. Komen
Foundation for the purpose of breast cancer awareness and research. Our most sincere
thanks to our golfers, all of our generous Partners for a Cure that
made prize donations for our event, Oak Ridge Golf Course, and Mother
Nature. . .for a beautiful day! Make plans to join
us next year! We don’t have an official date set, but it will be very
close to the same time frame next year. See you then!
